Proposition 8 passed? OMG! Where's the equality wish everyone?

I was in shock when I heard a friend in California telling me about the result of Prop 8. I was like: "OMG! It passed? Is this reality? What the f*ck? Same-sex marriage has just been banned. Where's the equality wish people?" Opinions about this? Let me know.
